If you’re a straight and/or cisgender person arguing for the “ally” flag, consider what you are signaling when you wear, use, or fly it. To make things more complicated, allies rocking this flag have no requirements for who gets to claim allyship by purchasing this flag. Black stands for asexuality. Similar to the safety pin movement of 2016, the ally flag says you are a safe individual but not what you will do to keep the LGBTQIA+ community safe.
This flag only uses the more modern six-colored flag without pink and turquoise. ... Consider what being an ally or accomplice looks like to you and your community, then ask yourself if that is what you are being to the various LGBTQIA+ communities you claim to be allies to.
And more than 1.4 million trans adults living in the U.S., which is about 0,5% of the population.
Violence against the queer community affects trans people of color the most. A straight ally believes that LGBT people face discrimination and thus are socially and economically disadvantaged.
Gilbert Baker Pride Flag
It was created in 1977 by Gilbert Baker, an artist, activist, and openly gay military veteran.
The lavender, a mix of pink and blue which traditionally represents women and men, expresses queer identities and androgyny. According to Amnesty International, 1.5 million transgender people live in the European Union, making up 0.3% of the population. That version of the flag evolved as it used colors that were perceived stereotypical of the gender binary.
For some people, it may mean that they rely on other types of attraction instead of or in place of sexual attraction.

They are not themselves part of the queer rainbow family but support LGBTQ+ causes and fight for a more inclusive world.
Sadly, it isn’t known who made or designed the straight ally flag. The straight ally flag represents unity and support towards the LGBTQ community.
Here’s what the straight ally flag means:
- The letter ‘A’ means ally.
- The black and white stripes represent the straight flag.
- The rainbow colors in the letter ‘A’ are for the LGBT community.
Keep in mind that bearing this flag is not a trend.
This flag includes the colors red, orange, yellow, green, indigo, and violet on it.
Hot pink wasn´t included in the fabrication of these flags, because the fabric was hard to find. Archived on 13 Aug, 2023. Gray represents demisexuality, for those who develop sexual attraction to someone only after forming a deep emotional bond with them.
