They took no prisoners, building reputations as very aggressive drivers and upstart kids who didn’t mind barking at their elders for shortcomings, real or perceived.

Tom Busch himself hailed both his sons in an interview back in 2021: “I like it now a lot better than in the old days when I owned both cars. He invested everything into his children’s future. To have neither of them in the show that day was something that took some getting used to.”

Vegas Beginnings
The Busch brothers started racing under the tutelage of their father, once a short-track racer himself.

Then they soon would sail into big-league stock car racing, with Kurt entering the NASCAR Cup Series in 2000 and Kyle entering in 2004.

Gaye Busch, on the other hand, worked for the Clark County School District. For him to win that, the excitement and glory is phenomenal.
Then, for Kyle to have such a fantastic and unbelievable season last year, my gosh!

Firstly, Tom Busch planted the bug of racing in the future NASCAR legend. It’s always been a family thing, and for them to see everything growing up with their dad racing, it was our hobby.
I would have never, ever thought it was going to happen.
