What attracted Zenbiz Travel to VACAYA right from the start was that I noticed VACAYA had marketing that included our faces. VACAYA ensures that every traveler, regardless of who they love or how they identify, finds a space where they can be their authentic selves. Their hearts and minds are aligned with VACAYA’s mission, and they reflect the diversity of our community in just about every way.

But our dedication extends well beyond mere representation; it’s about creating genuine connections, fostering understanding, and celebrating the beautiful tapestry of humanity.

With VACAYA, you’re not just booking a vacation, you’re joining a family that’s all about spreading love and good cheer everywhere we go!

But don’t take our word for it…

VACAYA Experiences

From Indian spices and Mayan ruins to Antarctic penguins and European dreamscapes, our discovery voyages immerse you in the authentic flavors of the world’s most exciting popular and off-the-beaten-path destinations – all in first-class style and luxury.

NBJC’s mission is to end racism, homophobia, and LGBTQ/SGL bias and stigma.

They will reach the far corners of the globe – giving VACAYA guests an opportunity to expand their horizons in completely new ways.

The VACAYA SMALL-SHIP CRUISE rhythm is… Bold.

If we don’t see our own faces in the advertisements, on the websites, we often assume we’re not welcome. It all starts with the companies we choose to collaborate with and the team members we hire. A chance to live life to the absolute fullest.

BLACK VOICES

Laurence Pinckney, President of Zenbiz Travel, LLC.

Laurence has spent the past 15 years serving the Black LGBT+ community as one of its leading travel agents. He was co-organizer of Black Pride NYC from 2001-2005, Dominican Island Heat events, and the Nubian Dreams & UHCC Cruises. So I offer this challenge to everyone… read or view Black media for 40 minutes. This has to do with the many Customs and Border Patrol regulations requiring a person’s stated gender to match the gender on their passport/legal ID.

We will continue to work with our partners to expand those current limitations, but know that your VACAYA family will always respect your right to identify – both in terms of sexuality and gender – in whatever way you choose. Over and over and over again. Many times, gender has been reduced to a simple binary choice: male or female. One’s gender identity can be the same or different from their sex assigned at birth.

Gender Expression
External appearance of one’s gender identity, usually expressed through behavior, clothing, haircut or voice, and which may or may not conform to socially defined behaviors and characteristics typically associated with being either masculine or feminine.

Cisgender
Denoting or relating to a person whose sense of personal identity and gender corresponds with their birth sex.

Transgender
An umbrella term for people whose gender identity and/or expression is different from cultural expectations based on the sex they were assigned at birth.

We accomplish that by developing programming that caters to a full spectrum of orientations and identities. For far too long we’ve been under represented or not represented at all. In other words, you do you.

LGBT+ Inclusivity

VACAYA isn’t just your average vacation company. Sailing boutique-style expedition and riverships, VACAYA Small-Ship Cruises are unapologetically exclusive – welcoming to all, of course, but built for discerning travelers seeking intimate experiences, splendid accommodations, and unparalleled service.

VACAYA is partnering with the world’s leading small-ship cruise lines, including Transcend, Emerald Waterways, Ponant, Avalon Waterways, and Hurtigruten – lines chosen because they’re built to constantly exceed expectations.

Our small-ship cruise vacations are a celebration of the wonders of our planet.

But to make sure it is, we first need EVERYBODY to recognize there’s a problem. They support us, so we support them. I recommend The Root (www.theroot.com), Black News Channel (https://blacknewschannel.com/about/), or AM Joy (on MSNBC). Inclusive imagery is a great first step, but what happens beyond that? And while we constantly strive to have a deeper understanding of how you view yourself, the wheels of progress move slowly with our mainstream partners.

Each of us has to play a part.
