As Will shares, Vecna uses his "vessels" to amplify his own abilities, and he's doing so to a greater degree with the group he took in Volume 1.

Vecna is holding the kids, including Holly, in his lair, which is located in a different world that Dustin nicknames "the Abyss." It's the same world that Henry ended up in after he was defeated by Eleven in Hawkins Lab.

As Dustin reveals, their world and the Abyss are connected by a bridge, and that bridge is the location of the Upside Down. Their discovery will go on to change everything we know about the Upside Down and other dimensions in the show.

As for Max, she finally gets back to the real world and her physical body, but her fate comes with more complications.

The conclusion of "Sorcerer" notably revealed Will's Vecna powers and his hive mind connection, but that won't be enough to take down the show's big villain. He is able to stop the demogorgons from killing his friends, and it's revealed that his powers are similar to Eleven's.

Co-creator Matt Duffer previously explained that his newfound abilities are a metaphor for Will finally embracing his identity.

If El is alive, the existence of programs like Project Indigo may never truly end, but as of Stranger Things season 5, Volume 2's ending, it's unclear if Eleven is willing to sacrifice herself.

How Will Can Help Beat Vecna

After nearly five full seasons, Stranger Things finally confirms that Will is gay by giving the character an emotional scene that allows him to come out to his family and friends.

These feelings were quietly shown in earlier seasons, but they became clear in Season 4.

While Will’s feelings are now clear, Mike’s feelings are still a mystery.

It all comes down to the series finale, which will predominantly focus on the Party carrying out their plan with the bridge. While he wants to share the truth with those closest to him, he also reveals the truth to give Vecna less power. Holly also finds an escape from Vecna's mindscape, leading her to wake up in Vecna's lair. In order to defeat Vecna and stop his plan, the group will need to destroy the bridge, which is already wildly unstable.

Surprisingly, Steve is the one who comes up with the group's plan to get to the Abyss and ultimately, Vecna.

Although the show has not explicitly addressed his sexuality, subtle hints have sparked debates in the fandom.

Will Byers is in Love with Mike Wheeler

Mike Wheeler’s relationship with Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) has been a focal point of the series since season 1. In order to get closer to Vecna and his mind, El plans to use the sensory deprivation tank still located in the Upside Down's Hawkins Lab.

El's role puts her almost at the center of the bridge since Hawkins Lab is just below the exotic matter that the group plans to blow up.
